For the past fourteen months, Thomas Siegel has consulted Massachusetts-area nonprofit organizations and foundations in the areas of technology and the Internet. In that work, he has done technology assessments, advised on technology purchases, designed webpages, and trained staff in the use of several office software applications. Formerly, he was the Director of Information Services and Technologies at the Associated Grantmakers of Massachusetts, where for four years he was primarily responsible for overall internal management of online information services using Lotus Notes/Domino, including the development and maintenance AGM's web-based online system, AGMConnect. In that capacity he did numerous presentations for AGM members (grantmakers) and AGM partners (nonprofits) on the uses of the Internet in philanthropy. While at AGM, he created over twenty-five web homepages for AGM members. Prior to his work at AGM, Mr. Siegel was a Foundation Fellow at the Boston Foundation for two years, where he reviewed grant proposals and developed several projects for the Vice President for Development. In 1990, Mr. Siegel received a Ph.D. in American Civilization from Harvard University and from that time until 1993, he was a Lecturer at Harvard in the History and Literature Department. |
