The Consultants Network for Excellence in Nonprofits is a forum for
independent consulting practitioners who work with community-based nonprofits,
government agencies and the private sector. We are dedicated to improving
the quality of life in our communities by providing the clients we serve
with high quality, ethical service. We are committed to encouraging
diversity and opposing discrimination in any form in our work with clients
and in our advice to them. Each of us has pledged to:
-
Fairly and accurately represent our qualifications and credentials;
-
Agree with clients in advance on the objectives, scope, approach and time
frame for the proposed engagement;
-
Agree with clients in advance on the basis for our fees and expenses and
to charge fees and expenses that are reasonable, legitimate and commensurate
with the services we deliver and the responsibility we accept;
-
Discuss potential conflicts of interest with clients prior to engaging
in work with them and as they arise during the course of an assignment;
-
Clarify roles, issues of confidentiality and ethics where there are multi-party
engagements;
-
Accept only engagements for which we are qualified by relevant experience
and competence;
-
Protect our clients’ welfare and interests;
-
Show sensitivity and regard for the feelings, ideals and expectations of
the organizations and people for whom we are working;
-
Be truthful and forthright with clients concerning our observations and
recommendations;
-
Keep client information strictly confidential both during and after the
contractual period;
-
Respect the materials and methods developed by clients and other consultants
and use this information only with their permission;
-
Exercise objectivity and integrity when reviewing the work of another professional;
-
Conduct ourselves in an ethical and honest manner.
